Proof that people in car-centric southern California do ride trains, as BNSF Railway train S-LPCLBA1-18A (behind Dash 9-44CWs 5507 and 4387, with ES44DCs 7528 and 7274 on the rear) speeds by the new parking garage being built (to handle the crowds) adjacent to the Fullerton passenger station (which is in the distance, among the palm trees). Fullerton sees nearly 60 Amtrak and Metrolink passenger trains stop there each weekday and, as it is also on BNSF's busy Transcon mainline connecting Los Angeles (and the nearby ports) to Chicago, an amazing number of freight trains, too. No wonder it is such a popular railfan hangout. It is rare to wait more then twenty minutes without something coming by!
