Remarks & Notes |
A set of helpers shove 698 north through the village of Chauncey. The building shown here is a former K&M freight depot, now used by the local Lions Club. The WV Secondary is manned helper territory for coal loads north of the Ohio River. They are tacked on at Hobson Yard and most are taken off at Thurston, just east of Columbus. The 1.2% ruling grade crests inside the S-shaped Moxahala Tunnel, which 698 will encounter in another 20 miles. |
