A westbound manifest heads past Greenway Coop's Kasson elevator. The elevator just finished an expansion this past fall adding dual 8 ft. by 25 ft. dumping pits, 3 million bushels of additional storage, a 185 ft. tall grain leg tower and a 154 ft. tall grain dryer (the largest in the grain industry), resulting in 40,000 bu./hr. handling capacity. Over the two weeks I was home I noticed several cuts of 10-20 cars being loaded. Aside from the Mayo Clinic, southeastern Minnesota is agriculturally driven.
