Remarks & Notes
General Electric 85 ton electric pit motors rest at Kennecott Copper's Dry Fork Shops in the the Bingham Canyon Copper Mine. The KCC 748 was built in Feb. 1937 while the 753 was built in April of the same year. Both would be retired by 1982 when EMD GP39-2 diesel locomotives replaced them in the copper pit. Lurking in the background at right is D&RGW GP30 #3024, on lease from the Rio Grande and assisting in the demise of the GE electrics.
