Remarks & Notes |
In this timeless recreation of a local 'pick-up' freight, 'Coal Tank' 58926 strides through a misty Worth Valley towards Haworth alongside the meandering Bridgehouse Beck with her early morning train. The locomotive is a typical product of the Victorian era and was built at Crewe in 1888! These 'Coal Tank' 0-6-2s were once a 300-strong class of Francis Webb's design for the London & North Western Railway. She ended her service life with British Railways in 1958 and was eventually gifted to the National Trust and thankfully restored to working order. |
