Remarks & Notes
A B&O work extra was hurrying west at Magnolia, WV on Sept, 16, 1978 in the morning haze and drizzle, led by WM GP9 No. 6413. At the time, this was known on the B&O as a ballast cleaner. The crane with the clamshell was used to clean fouled ballast from the end of the crossties to improve drainage from the track structure.
