Vermont Rail System conducted a second day of testing the SD9043MACs that have recently been leased by CIT Group. On March 26, GMRC train 263 departed Rutland, VT behind the CEFX 125 and 130, both under power, with trailing dead locomotives VTR GP40-2W 311 and VTR GP38-2 201. The train climbed much of the way to the Green Mountain summit with 4,700 trailing tons and only the 125 online. The 130 was brought online several times during the trip by a CIT maintainer/engineer. Early morning snow squalls broke just ahead of the arrival at Cuttingsville Trestle, allowing a well-lit passage over Mill Stream. Be sure to check out more photos at http://steelwheelsphotography.com
