Remarks & Notes |
CNW like neighboring Soo Line wasn't a big fan of GE power. A purchase of problem plagued U30C's in 1968 set the tone for a no GE policy for many years on both roads. The CNW finally came around in 1989 and purchased some very successful C40-8's for coal service. The CNW U-boats only lasted for about 10 years and surely they probably spent about half that time out of service or in storage. They normally worked out of Cedar Lake Yard in the Twin Cities and made trips to the Twin Ports,Council Bluffs and Adams. This shot of 932 was taken at Adams and has no photographer listed on slide. |
