Following on from the shot of the pioneer large boilered GNR 4-4-2, one of the later engines No 3300 is seen about to take water from Langley troughs (track pan) with the 4.30pm express to Kings Cross. There were 94 of these engines built in 1902-10, this one dating from 1905 which lasted until 1949. Original photo scanned from a glass quarter plate negative by the late F.R. Hebron. |
