Remarks & Notes |
Not long after transfer from assignment in Huron SD, the 4251 has made a new home in Upper Michigan. The lone CNW RS-11 usually was assigned to the job that worked from Iron Mountain to Powers and return. This shot has the train pulling around the wye in Powers preparing to make a set out that will be picked up by the C628 powered Escanaba-Green Bay freight. After shuffling cars for an hour or so the 4251 will return to Iron Mountain. The 4251 was bought second handed from GE by CNW in 1973, and retired by CNW on August 9, 1983. CNW got a decade of good service out of the elderly Alco and definitely their moneys worth! |
