Remarks & Notes |
Racing Thru History - Two state of the art 4300 HP SD70MACs race south down the ARR's mainline with a trainload of empty flatcars. The baretable train is destined for Seward, the ARR's southernmost terminal, where it will load up with containers that have arrived on a Northland Services barge from Seattle. The train is seen here passing the Potter Section House built in 1929 and one of but a few remaining historic structrues from the railroad's early days that can still be found their original locations (Wasilla depot being the most significant). To learn more about the site and other great historic information click HERE to check out John Comb's excellent site on all things ARR. Note: the photographer is a railroad employee with permission to be on the property and was wearing all required PPE while taking this photograph. |
