It is very rare for the RJ Corman FP7s to handle freight on the Old Road, most often they only handle passenger specials while visiting Lexington. However, these locomotives do occasionally handle freight on their home line out of Bardstown, KY. Since these units have been idle all winter in Lexington awaiting a rebuild but will be expected to preform flawlessly on Saturday's Derby Special, one is to assume that today's unusual assignment is a test run to break them in again. Whatever the reason may have been it was nice to see these old gals pulling freight for a change!
