A westbound intermodal train was digging in for the climb up to Yampai as it passed West Pica, AZ on Sept. 19, 2004. The water tanks to the left remain from the time that this was a water station on the Santa Fe. They were still in use in 2004, by the local residents, it appeared. Even more interesting were the abandoned pump house buildings. From what I could determine, the pumps had one time been powered by stationary steam engines, the remains of which were still there in 2004.
