Remarks & Notes
Below sea level: A northbound light rail train briefly ducks below sea level as it reaches the nadir of the bore between International District and Pioneer Square Stations in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. The sinuous alignment of the overhead contact wire is intended to stimulate even wear across the width of the vehicles' pantographs. A neat detail is the "Metro Transit Tunnel" lettering applied by hand to the cone at right.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
