Remarks & Notes

Westbound Kyle plow train hit flangeway ice in a crossing at Kanorado on the Kanas-Colorado border derailing the plow and two of the three locomotives. The locomotives were soon rerailed, but the plow remained at the site for a couple of years before being cut up for scrap. Kyle 9282 is ex-Southern Pacific 9282; the plow is ex-Santa Fe. Notice the main line partially covered by snow in the foreground.
