A head on wreck caused by one train overrunning the meet at Gilchrist. I heard on the radio that "2 westbound trains collided head on" (accuracy in the media!) so I highballed across the border (I was living in Soo, Ontario at the time) and got there not long before sunset. No one was killed account they all jumped clear but there were some broken bones. None of the other engines or cars derailed, and some of the crew were able to back the remaining cars and engines away from the fire. You can see the 4408's fuel tank was cut open and the fuel then ignited by the SD40-2 underneath.
