As Amtrak #785 (a Pacific Surfliner operating from San Diego to Goleta, California) loads passengers on Track 1 at Fullerton, train #784 (another Pacific Surfliner) departs for San Diego (having originated in Goleta) on Track 3. The passenger loads on this line are, as shown here, fairly heavy. (The structure in the foregound, which looks a bit like a cattle pen, is part of a new pedestrian walkway to a new parking garage just west of the station.)
The worst of railroad design. Please, send me your entries / suggestions for the "Album of the ugly trains of the world" (past or present, paint scheme or shape).
