Most people hate the red bombs and it is understandably so. After the DM&E acquired these units it took them a long time to paint them, making a solid set of Blue and Golds very difficult to catch. Just as the DM&E was starting to paint them at a fast rate, the CP came in. Since then it's been hard to even get a premerger consist without CP units or lease units. So while this may not be desirable there are a few things to consider. This consist has all units that would have been running prior to the CP take over, DME 6092, ICE 6102, DME 6370, and ICE 6414; DME 6092 still has it's classification lights intact; and we have a very typical scene along the Chicago Sub, barns, corn, curves, codeline, and classic EMDs. What a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning in Illinois.
