Remarks & Notes
Photographed on the morning of the 125 Anniversary of the Golden Spike, Union Pacific's Cache Valley Local rambles south across Cache County 116th North Street near Richmond, Utah. The magnetic flagman was functioning as intended on this May 10, 1994 day, doomed to be removed and replaced with flashing lights and crossing gates. Incidentally, the UP 2371 is a former Missouri-Kansas-Texas GP39-2, featuring a turbocharged 12 cylinder power plant that sounded sweet!
