On a hot, muggy August 28th, 2012, Metrolink train 604, heading from Los Angeles to Oceanside, departs Orange, California, 17 minutes late due equipment problems (doors that became inoperable) on train 640, which preceeded it. In the background is the former Santa Fe station on the east side of the mainline, which was converted to a restaurant years ago, and is now thriving as a part of the Ruby's Diner chain. The interior is nicely decorated in a railroad theme (mainly, but not exclusively, Santa Fe), including some elements copied from Los Angeles' Union Station. And there is a patio for trackside dining as well.
