While spending a delightful morning fishing with my dad, grandfather, and brother, a coal train appeared along Scofield Reservoir, bound for the Valley Camp mine. I scrambled from the shore up to the roadway, then up a steep cut to the track, then up one more hill to grab this view on a beautiful June morning in 1980. Thank goodness I was a teenager, and could tackle any athletic feat to 'get the shot'. I recall we all caught our limit of Rainbow Trout that day and enjoyed a delicious dinner that night at home with grandpa.
