For the entire time the Tippecanoe operated these locomotives, they never lost any of their Chessie markings. After becoming JK Lines in 1990, the railroad later came under the control of the TP&W. In 2003, TP&W filed to abandon the 16 mile N. Judson to Monterey line. They later received permission to do so and the rails were removed about 9 years ago, except for a short segment in N. Judson. TP&W was reported to be interested in the stretch of welded rail on the line. The line had previously been operated by Erie Western in the late 70's and later by the Chicago & Indiana Railroad, a short-lived replacement for the Erie Western. They only operated the last half of 1979. I have great memories of the line as i was allowed to ride along several times, rode the short lived excursion train with an RSD5 at one end and an RS3 at the other, and also rode the line in a speeder when the railroad hosted a speeder group.
