Successful birthday. On its 68th birthday, NKP 765 enjoys a quiet slumber away from the majority of the crowds that greeted it throughout the day as a couple of crew members chat on the ground with the guys in the cab. For 765 to last 68 years is impressive, but for it to be in operating mainline service this day in age is almost impossible to believe. It's a good bet that the workers at Lima, Ohio, back in 1944 had no idea that the machine they were creating would be alive and well almost 70 years later.
