After being shipped to Vermont as part of White River Junction's Glory Days of the Railroad Festival last weekend, the Amtrak Phase I P42 #156 has spent the week assigned to the Vermonter trains. On September 12, the Vermonter is seen southbound at Sharon, Vermont, crossing the White River on one of the bridge that still has prominent Central Vermont Railway lettering.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
