Remarks & Notes |
Anyone who has ventured out to eastern Utah to photograph the Deseret Power Ry. knows that it runs through a very sparsely populated area. It doesn't run through a single town. There are no at grade crossings of a paved road. It has only one crossing of a gravel county road and that one is protected by crossing gates. Probably the most colorful area along the RR is called Coyote Basin. It has many exposures of colorful Tertiary age lake beds from the long gone Lake Uinta. This shot shows an afternoon loaded coal train passing through Coyote Basin on it's way to the Bonanza Power Plant to unload. |
