Thanks to a fortuitous radio conversation between a BNSF train at Jacksonville and the NS Springfield/Hannibal District dispatcher, I was able to get the jump on this early running #398 and catch him on the Chatham Road overpass. All of #398's fast running was for naught, however, as the train was lined into the NS Pass at WE to meet three NS westbounds (D37, D2M, and 33J) and Amtrak #301. #398 ended up taking a 2 hour delay at Iles.
