Sperry Rail Service car 137 performs rail defect testing along UP's remote Sunnyside Subdivision in eastern Utah. The car was built by St. Louis Car for the Soo Line in 1925. Sperry acquired it and converted it to a mobile test lab in December 1970. Car 137 features a CAT diesel motor, a full kitchen, and sleeping quarters for the crew. Just squint a little and pretend it's a Rio Grande doodlebug heading up the branch with passengers and freight for the communities of Columbia, Draggerton, and Sunnyside.
