Appearing to be right out of the box, a Utah Railway MK5000C gleams in new paint at the IPP Railcar Service Center in Provo, Utah. The 5003 was built new by MPI as a demonstrator in Southern Pacific paint back in August 1994. By November 2000, the Utah purchased the entire production fleet of six MK5000Cs from MPI. If the 5003 looks a little plain, the bright yellow reflective stripe has yet to be applied to the anti-climber and the side sill.
