Baldwin Prairie #250 arrives at Wakefield, NH station on a summer Sunday afternoon. The train will reverse direction just up the line at Sanbornville to complete the 24 mile round trip out of Wolfboro. The green and white flag is hanging near the door indicating that the train will stop to pick up passengers. Photographer Ken Patton captured a number of solid photo elements in this shot. A steam powered passenger train picking up riders at quaint rural station brings thoughts of a Norman Rockwell scene.
Beautiful mountain scenery has made this small state a draw for rail buffs to ride the Mount Washington Cog Railway and the Conway Scenic, among others.
