Remarks & Notes |
A Utah Railway Wildcat coal load climbs west through Castle Gate at the Cyprus Amax Willow Creek Prep Plant. The Willow Creek load out was shut down late in 2000 when two coal miners were killed in a tragic accident leading to an internal fire that burned for months. Nothing remains today of the Willow Creek loading facility (even the yard was abandoned). When Utah Railway MK5000C 5005 was converted to an MK50-3 in June 2003, it was repainted in Genesee & Wyoming's orange & black livery. Photos of the 5005 in traditional red and gray paint are relatively uncommon. |
