Remarks & Notes |
The supply train from Oak Island (OI) to Browns Yard cannot traverse its normal route because Superstorm Sandy has disabled the Raritan River Drawbridge. Until further notice the OI supply train reaches Browns by traveling down the NEC to Midway interlocking in Monmouth Junction, where it is then pulled onto the Dayton Branch. Here, a pair of CSX locomotives move into position to pull the supply train off the NEC. From here these CSX locomovites train will pull the train east via the Dayton Branch and Amboy Secondary to Browns. The locomotives that brought the train down the NEC will return light to OI. Under normal circumstances, this westernmost section of the Dayton Branch receives no rail traffic. |
