Remarks & Notes |
VIA Park Series Dome Observation Tweedsmuir Park poses in front of the Abany skyline for likely the first time ever during a backup move on Monday morning. This is its second day of a short term lease to Amtrak for service on the Adirondack trains 69 and 68. VIA leased 12 cars to Amtrak for 8 days of service during the Thanksgiving rush. Two Park Dome-Obs were included to assist with food service needs. Of particular significance on the skyline is the gothic style tower on the right. This was built by the Delaware & Hudson Railway and served as their headquarters during the golden years. Today its an admin building for the NY State University System (SUNY). The NYS Capital is behind the D&H Building and the tower buildings on the left are part of Empire State Plaza and house NYS employees. |
