In late 1998 LTV Steel Mining Company began running longer 125-car ore trains and to handle such tonnage they assembled 6-unit locomotive sets (previously 4-5 units sets were the norm on 96-car trains). One of those new sets was a stunning A-B-B-B-B-A combination of F9s. After dumping their train at Taconite Harbor the "6 Pack" heads back to the mine and the F9s catch some strong "glint" light as the sun ducks under the cloud deck. The contraption on 4214 is an air conditioner and its frame.
