SOU No. 22 operating as Extra SOU 6707 North is on SCL tracks near Millbrook, NC, just north of Raleigh. SOU No. 22 is one of 213 SOU trains detoured over SCL between Raleigh, NC and Richmond, Va. in the weeks following Hurricane Camille in 1969. Floodwaters from the remnants of the storm washed out SOU's double track mainline bridge over the Tye River (Nelson County, Va.) causing major disruption in SOU's north-south operation. Today, 5 F units handle the unique consist of mail, express, and piggybacks cars on it's northward trip to Richmond, Va.
