The BNSF Railway California Division Christmas Train was about to load passengers for its first run up to the Summit of Cajon Pass, and I as awaited the kids and their families in front of the vestibule door, I spotted a headlight approaching from the west. I had enough time to grab my camera and poke my head out of the other side of the vestibule's dutch-doors in time to discover that the approaching train, the Union Pacific's MWCNP 15 (Manifest; West Colton CA to North Platte NE) was led by UP's Western Pacific Heritage SD70ACe, number 1983! I quickly headed back to my position on the platform and, as a result, missed that the rear DPU was UP 1996, the road's Southern Pacific Heritage SD70ACe. (Fortunately, our short BNSF passenger train overtook the UP train just west of Summit, and I was able to grab a shot of UP 1996 from the vestibule as we climbed the hill.)
