Light precip is still falling as Amtrak's southbound Vermonter train 55 is on schedule to the minute passing through Walpole, New Hampshire on its way to the next stop in Bellows Falls, Vermont. Amtrak P42DC 109 leads the train past the 'yard' tracks along the NECR Palmer Subdivision on Monday afternoon.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
