Travel by Train Looking like a scene from the days before Amtrak, Union Pacific's annual Cheyenne Frontier Days train lays over at Union Station in Denver on July 16, 1998. This station closed in early 2011 for a multi-year redevelopment of the area in what the project website states, “Denver Union Station is a unique project that will bring together many different transportation modes, along with new private development, to create a new bustling urban center and multimodal transportation hub.” Hopefully some flavor of railroading’s past will still exist when the station reopens in spring of 2014.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
