A pair of Southern Pacific searchlights still stand guard over the West Valley Subdivision in Davis, California. The the good ol' days, these signals would watch many SP trains making their way up and down California. All these signals see now-a-days are a couple California Northern locals. The days might be limited for these signals as copper thieves have claimed the lives of many other searchlight signals along this line.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
