Allensville, WV 12/29/12 - Having just crested the grade at North Mountain on the CSX Cumberland Subdivision, the westbound Q-400 begins to glide downhill towards the Potomac River valley at Beards Crossing Road. Along this stretch of the Brunswick to Cumberland mainline, the railroad splits for a few miles, with the double track mainline tackling a significant grade over the mountain, while a single track low grade less than a mile to the north stays along the river valley.
