The Chicago and Northwestern heritage unit accelerates after having a meet with the KP's twice weekly eastbound manifest at Hays Siding. The 1995 is detouring on a westbound Armourdale, Kansas to Cheyenne, Wyoming autorack train. With UP's Falls City Subdivision underwater at Atchison, the Kansas Pacific across western Kansas was forced into action as a detour route, as the Kansas Sub northwest of Topeka which is single track was forced to try and handle 60+ trains a day.
