Remarks & Notes |
Wasatch Mountain Railway's tradition of running doubleheaders on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends continued into the late 1970s. Two steam engines from the White Mountain Scenic Railway at McNary, Arizona found a new home working on the Heber Creeper in Utah. Sierra Railroad 2-8-2 #36 (blt. by Alco in January 1930) and Santa Maria Valley 2-8-2 #100 (blt. by Baldwin in June 1926) lead a packed train of Herriman coaches and open air cars through the verdant Heber Valley near Charleston. |
