Remarks & Notes
TRAINS CAN KILL.... to make motorists more aware of the dangers of arguing with a train, Transnet Freight Rail has erected large billboards at certain level crossings along the secondary main line to Mafikeng, such as this example at Magaliesburg. A westbound freight, led by GE U26C # 34-120, is crossing the very busy Route R24, which carries plenty of truck traffic heading to Rustenburg and Botswana. The location of the crossing at the bottom of a steep hill, right on the edge of the town, requires a great deal of caution from both train crews and truck drivers.
