Assisted by a 40mph tailwind and the Whitefish helpers, S-TACCHC1-18A sails up the grade at Grizzly on a bone-chilling winter evening east of the Rocky Mountains. The trailing unit died on the climb up Marias Pass, leading to a long talk with Fort Worth Mechanical and eventually resulting in the helpers having to return to the train to provide sufficient braking for the descent to East Glacier and the brief climb out of the Two Medicine River valley. The train would later steal a unit from the V-CHCTAC1-19A east of Browning to complete its eastward trek.
