I generally prefer to photograph at the 'quieter' end of the Great Central Railway on the section between Rothley and Leicester. I am usually the only person around and I can choose my location unhindered by a sea of orange-jacketed enthusiasts! The Great Western Railway's highly successful 28xx class were introduced in 1904 and with a few modifications were still being built in 1942! No.3803 emerged from Swindon Works in January 1939 and is still looking mighty fine seventy-four years later!
