Remarks & Notes |
British Rail Engineering Ltd. (BREL) built Class 507 EMU no. 507023 of 1979 pauses at Merseyrail Wirral Line's newest station with a West Kirby service. Fantastic units, which I once drove. They have 4x110hp DC traction motors drawing 750v DC from a top contact 3rd rail. A maximum speed of 75 mph is attainable, but this is rarely achieved in passenger service - more often than not, spirited running is only attainable on empty stock transfers. More info on the station and the Mersey Railway can be found here. a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway_Park_railway_station |
