The Niagara Region of Ontario featured many miles of electrified interurban trackage, including the NS&T. The NS&T became a CN property, and was operated as the Welland sub, hence the CN markings. Passenger service was gone by 1959, the wires taken down, some freight service lingered for a while, but most of the tracks were gone by 1981. In this view, a lady has just stepped on and so will the photographer to ride north and photograph the various locations enroute.
