There is little doubt that the stars of WM's yard at Hagerstown, MD were the two BL2's, No's. 81 and 82, and their slugs. However, the yard assignment that worked in front of the yard office kicking cars, more often than not, was left to two "run of the mill" RS-3s. In Dec., 1974, RS-3s No's. 198 and 194 shove in a cut of cars just west of the yard office. It was a pleasant place to sit and just watch the Alcos do their thing. To this day, I think there is only one sound in railroading better than an Alco RS-3 kicking cars......that would be two RS-3s kicking cars.
...Rock Island....Erie Lackawanna....even some UP....some other stuff....that I remember even if I didnt' see them in the locales that some of these photos were taken at.....
