| While the dominance of 40’ boxcars came to an end during the 1950s with the creation of the standard 50’ boxcar for general merchandise traffic, some 40 footers like this beauty from the American Car and Foundry have managed to escape the cutter's torch and still earn their keep on the railroad in the form of MoW cars. This blast from the past has even received the new NS horsehead logo as well. |
