Farwath is one of Yorkshire's hidden gems. By 'hidden' I mean that it nestles deep in the remote wooded valley between Pickering and Levisham and is a very, VERY long walk from the nearest road via the farm track. It is (just about) accessible to those with a 4 x 4 and even then only with great care. For those who venture down into this unforgettable landscape, you will find a tranquility that is now a real rarity in the 21st century. Only the occasional passing train disturbs the peace in this very special place.
