Remarks & Notes

AC&Y 505 shoves a SOO box car with a brakeman riding the rooftop catwalk on a cold and cloudy March afternoon. This H-20-44 would survive as Southwest Portland Cement 410 before being preserved at the Center for Transportation in Galveston, Texas. When Hurricane Ike struck Galveston Island on September 13, 2008, the FM and much of the museum's collection would be inundated with several feet of salt water. The 505, now wearing a UP paint job was no exception. The salt water-damaged unit is for sale through Sterling Rail. Wouldn't it be great to be able to save this unit and restore it, at least cosmetically to its AC&Y appearance of 1968.
